Dark Mode

The POS system supports a dark mode theme across all applications (HQ Manager, Store Manager, and POS Terminal). Dark mode reduces eye strain in low-light environments and is popular with staff who work evening or night shifts.

Toggling Dark Mode

Click the theme toggle button in the top navigation bar (it appears as a sun/moon icon). The interface immediately switches between light and dark themes. No page reload is required.

Persisted Preference

Your dark mode preference is saved to your browser's local storage. When you log in again or refresh the page, the system automatically applies your last-used theme. This preference is per-device and per-browser -- if you use multiple devices, you can set a different preference on each.

Where Dark Mode Applies

Dark mode affects the entire user interface:

  • Navigation menus and sidebars
  • Data tables and lists
  • Forms and dialogs
  • Charts and report visualizations
  • The POS Terminal sale screen

All UI Kit components (buttons, inputs, cards, status indicators) adapt to the dark theme automatically.

Accessibility

The dark mode theme has been designed with sufficient contrast ratios to meet readability standards. If you find any screen difficult to read in dark mode, switch to light mode using the same toggle button.

POS Terminal Considerations

For POS Terminals in retail environments, the choice between light and dark mode may depend on the store's lighting conditions:

  • Well-lit stores: Light mode typically provides better visibility.
  • Dim environments (bars, restaurants, evening shifts): Dark mode reduces glare and is easier on the eyes.

Each terminal can be set independently since the preference is stored locally.
