Store Reports
The Store Manager provides three types of financial reports: X Reports for mid-shift checks, Z Reports for register session closings, and ZZ Reports for monthly store-level summaries.
X Report (Mid-Shift Check)
An X Report is a snapshot of the current register session taken without closing the register. Navigate to Store Manager > Reports > X Report or use the POS Terminal menu. The X Report shows the same data as a Z Report -- sales totals, cash totals, card totals, refunds, and voids -- but it is informational only. Running an X Report does not reset any counters or close the session.
Store managers commonly use X Reports to perform mid-shift cash checks. If the physical cash in the drawer does not match the expected amount shown on the X Report, it can be investigated before the shift ends. You can run as many X Reports as needed during a session.
Z Report (Register Closing)
The Z Report is generated when a cashier closes the register at the end of their shift. It is the official record of that register session and includes the opening amount, all sales, refunds, voids, tax breakdown, expected cash, declared cash, and any overage or shortage. Each Z Report is assigned a sequential number per register (Z-001, Z-002, etc.) that does not reset.
Z Reports are stored in the local database and synced to HQ. You can view past Z Reports from Store Manager > Reports > Z Report History. Filter by date range, register, or cashier. Each report can be reprinted from this screen.
ZZ Report (Monthly Closing)
The ZZ Report aggregates all Z Reports for the store within a given month. It provides the total sales, total refunds, total tax collected, and cash vs. card payment breakdown for the entire month. Navigate to Store Manager > Reports > ZZ Report and select the month. The ZZ Report is typically run on the first day of the following month.
ZZ Reports are numbered sequentially (ZZ-001, ZZ-002, etc.) and serve as the official monthly financial summary for the store. They are used for bookkeeping, tax filing, and management review.
Understanding Report Numbers
Each report type has its own independent sequential counter per register (for Z Reports) or per store (for ZZ Reports). These numbers never reset, providing a tamper-evident audit trail. If a Z Report number is missing from the sequence, it indicates a potential issue that should be investigated.
Printing Reports
All reports can be printed to the configured receipt printer or exported as PDF. From any report view, click "Print" for a thermal receipt printout or "Export PDF" for a full-page document suitable for filing. PDF exports include the store header, report details, and a timestamp of when the export was generated.
