Specials (Promotions)
Specials allow you to set temporary promotional prices on products. When a special is active, the POS Terminal uses the special price instead of the regular selling price. Specials are managed at HQ and synced to all stores.
How Specials Work
A special overrides a product's regular selling price for a defined time period. Each special has:
- Product: The product the special applies to.
- Special Price: The reduced price charged during the promotion period. This is entered in your base currency.
- Start Date: When the special price takes effect. The special activates at the beginning of this day.
- End Date: When the special price expires. The regular price resumes after this day.
- Description: Optional text describing the promotion (e.g., "Summer Sale", "Buy More Save More"). This may appear on receipts and reports.
- Active: A special can be manually deactivated before its end date if needed.
Creating a Special
Navigate to HQ Manager > Specials and click "Add Special".
- Search for and select the product.
- Enter the special (promotional) price.
- Set the start and end dates for the promotion period.
- Optionally enter a description.
- Click "Save".
The special is created and synced to all stores. It will automatically take effect at the POS Terminal once the start date arrives and the store has synced.
Editing a Special
Click on any special in the list to edit its details. You can change the special price, dates, or description. If the special is already active (the current date is between the start and end dates), changes take effect at stores after the next sync cycle.
Ending a Special Early
If you need to end a promotion before its scheduled end date, open the special and click "Deactivate". The product reverts to its regular selling price at all stores after the next sync. You cannot delete a special because it may be referenced by historical transactions, but deactivating it has the same practical effect.
Viewing Active Specials
The specials list page has a filter to show only currently active specials (those where today's date falls between the start and end dates and the special is not deactivated). This gives you a quick overview of all promotions currently running across your stores.
At the POS Terminal
When a cashier scans or searches for a product that has an active special, the POS Terminal automatically uses the special price. The cart line shows the special price and may indicate that a promotional price is applied. The regular price is not shown to the cashier to avoid confusion.
